Following an appeal in the autumn of 1975 to start Carpet Bowls, ten people formed the Club,  purchasing one carpet and one set of bowls.

On September 7th 1976 the Committee held a meeting inviting six other Bowls Clubs to consider forming a League. In October of that year the new carpet had arrived and play started. By 1977 the Vale of Mowbray League was formed and is still running today.

Sessay Carpet Bowls now runs two teams and has two carpets and sets of bowls.  Members enjoy playing on Tuesday evenings from September to the following March, with league away matches played on various evenings during the week.

New beginners and experienced players are welcome.
