Despite uncertain weather - including a hailstorm just prior to the start - the Sessay Sports Relief run was a great success, and £400 was raised for charity.  Around 100 runners (plus half a dozen dogs !) took part, with a roughly equal split between the three distances (6 miles, 3 miles and 1 mile).

Village Plan Questionnaires have been distributed to every household in the Parish. This is your opportunity to help us design the way our community will develop over the next 5 - 10 years; so please try to make sure that you complete the form and either have it available for collection on or around Sunday 16th March, or fill it in electronically on-line. Thank you for your help !

Following the success of the 2012 event, Sessay Cricket Club is again hosting a Fun Run on Sunday 23rd March as part of the 2014 Sport Relief celebrations, and we would welcome your support and participation.  There are three distances available to competitors ; 1,3 and 6 miles, with a start time of 2pm. The course will be the 'Sessay Triangle' between Sessay and Hutton Sessay and the maximum number of competitors will be 200. Estimated finish time is 4pm, with social events then continuing in the Village Hall.

Thanks to Janet Ratcliffe's awareness raising and everyone's reponse with information on phone problems, the Parish Council had a very interesting meeting with John Moore CEO of NYnet last week. He had listened and taken our concerns seriously. A full review of landline connections in Sessay will be undertaken in the next few months by BT and the various options for upgrading both our phone and broadband will then be discussed. We believe that leaving things as they are has now been accepted as not an option.

Sessay School were proudly showing off their brand new classrooms when they held an Open Day on Saturday 1st March.  The aim was to open up the school to parents with a child who is a potential pupil at the school, but anyone who just wanted to have a look round was also very welcome.   Acting head Steve Crocker and his staff were on hand to give visitors a tour and answer any questions.

What is RSS?

RSS (or Really Simple Syndication) is the technical term for a newsfeed.

If you are an "Information Junkie", then RSS is perfect for you. RSS is about getting live web feeds directly to your computer. RSS takes the latest headlines from our website, and pushes those headlines down to your computer for quick scanning. It can also visually inform you when a new news article has been published.

Setting up a RSS Newsfeed is simple but not all web-browsers have an RSS reader built in. To know for sure, simply click on the RSS Feed button above. If you get a new page full of code then it's likely you haven't got a Feed Reader installed. If this is the case we recommend you Google search for a RSS feed reader for your chosen web-browser.
